About Me

My Photo
I joined Particraft as a demonstrator in April 2008 and am also an independent demonstrator for Creative Expressions. I have a passion for cardmaking and have been teaching at workshops for the past 5 years including on cruise ships. There is nothing to compare with the thrill of seeing someone complete a project after they have told you that they haven't an artistic bone in their body! It's a great hobby that anyone of any age can enjoy. I'm married to Steve who almost understands my addiction to craft as he's addicted to his guitars. Between us, we have 4 grown up children and 3 grandchildren. I run workshops at my home and am also starting a craft club in September 2010. If anyone would like details of the workshops please e-mail me at stephen.smith870@ntlworld.com

Nearly Recovered!

I had a great weekend teaching at the workshop and hope that Jayne, Helen, Sylvia and John had as much fun as I did!
We managed to complete all 12 projects in the time I thought they would take (my planning abilities are getting MUCH better!!!)
Here's a couple of piccies of the gang working very hard. The cabin looks a bit different to how it looked in the photo I took on WOYWW. Just to prove that it often looks very messy but it is a great workspace.

Steve was fantastic and kept everyone fed and watered and even made his fab raspberry flapjack....that's started a riot! His daughter has said that it isn't fair as he didn't make one for her. Looks as thought he's going to be in the kitchen a bit longer.
I've been back to normal (whatever that is) today, getting on with the samples for Ally Pally. I had to be in the cabin by 8am as Sue had a live show on Create and Craft with those terrific Nesties. I just love her samples. Karen Lines has made some stunning samples for the show as well and they are such a joy to look at. Hope some of you managed to catch a show over the weekend.
Finally, here's one last photo of all the completed projects from the workshop. All of the stamps we used are available from Particraft. We covered: Faux Brayering, UTE, Cosmic Shimmer Watercolours and Mica, Distress Inks, Acetate and Alcohol Inks, Box making, Flower making, Eco-Green Acrylic paints, Tag cards, Masking, Gift Wallets, Stamping with pens, Folded cards, Embossing, Ripping and Tearing, Nesties, Sanding and probably a few other things! Having read that, I think I'm going for a long lie down in a darkened room!!!
Anyway, back to the sample making so until next time.....keep crafting!!

Wow, that must have been a great workshop. Too bad Canada is a bit too far away to pop in and attend or I'd be signing up for your next one!

Hi Pam,
You certainly had them working flat out!!!
Sounds like it was great fun and the results look REALLY GOOD!!
So glad the workshop went well after all the prep it must have taken.
See you at Ally Pally on Sunday, looking forward to seeing all your lovely samples.
