About Me

My Photo
I joined Particraft as a demonstrator in April 2008 and am also an independent demonstrator for Creative Expressions. I have a passion for cardmaking and have been teaching at workshops for the past 5 years including on cruise ships. There is nothing to compare with the thrill of seeing someone complete a project after they have told you that they haven't an artistic bone in their body! It's a great hobby that anyone of any age can enjoy. I'm married to Steve who almost understands my addiction to craft as he's addicted to his guitars. Between us, we have 4 grown up children and 3 grandchildren. I run workshops at my home and am also starting a craft club in September 2010. If anyone would like details of the workshops please e-mail me at stephen.smith870@ntlworld.com

Candy Winner

Firstly a big thank you to everyone that took part in the candy draw but unfortunately there can only be 1 winner (otherwise I'd be bankrupt!!). I do promise that if I ever win the lottery (which can only be a matter of time...surely!) I'll give everyone a prize.
Anyway, without further ado the winner is .............................................................................................................
......................................................................................................
Karen. Please e-mail me with your details and I'll get the Xmas bling in the post.
Don't worry if you didn't win....there will be another candy posted on here very soon and there's still a chance to enter for Sue's Particraft candy. She is soooo nearly at her target for the draw to take place and just needs a small final boost so help her out. The link is on my sidebar for Particraft.
The piccie is of an unfinished card but I just wanted to show you a technique. I ran a piece or acetate through a Xyron machine and using a teaspoon, sprinkled Cosmic Shimmer Glitter randomly over the sticky side. After covering the acetate, pat the glitter down with your fingers and you have a gorgeous glittery panel which can be run back through the machine and stuck to cardstock. It makes a fab background and if you use heat resistant acetate it can be stamped and heat embossed. The acetate and glitter are available from Particraft where there is still free p&p.
One other piece of news to share with you. The demo at Martell Press was a huge success and I've been asked to run a one day Xmas card workshop there. It's taking place on November 27th and the cost is £25 including a light lunch. The numbers are strictly limited to 12 so if you're interested, please contact the shop in Cliftonville and book a place.
Got to go as I have a medical at work today and need to sort myself out. I wish they would leave me alone and just believe what my surgeon and GP say but they disagree with the diagnosis even though they've never asked for my medical records and certainly weren't present at the operation! Oh well, better comply with what they want! So until next time....................keep crafting!

Congrats Karen!
The card is already beautiful with its gold embossing and sparkly background.
I had to deal with the insurance company after I had a car accident; their decisions about my recovery were all about the bootom line and had nothing to do with what was best for me. I wish you better luck!

wow what can i say? I won a blog candy before, my first ever, and they didn't send it to me, so this is my first real win, thank you so much. I make cards for cancer charities, and am a cancer patient myself, so this will be used for a good cause. Once again thank you so much. Karen x
