About Me

My Photo
I joined Particraft as a demonstrator in April 2008 and am also an independent demonstrator for Creative Expressions. I have a passion for cardmaking and have been teaching at workshops for the past 5 years including on cruise ships. There is nothing to compare with the thrill of seeing someone complete a project after they have told you that they haven't an artistic bone in their body! It's a great hobby that anyone of any age can enjoy. I'm married to Steve who almost understands my addiction to craft as he's addicted to his guitars. Between us, we have 4 grown up children and 3 grandchildren. I run workshops at my home and am also starting a craft club in September 2010. If anyone would like details of the workshops please e-mail me at stephen.smith870@ntlworld.com

WOYWW

A very good morning to all and welcome to my bombsite!
I've been in the throws of a massive Christmas card making operation and still haven't got very far. I'm too easily distracted and I see other things that I want to play with!
Anyway, on my desk are a pile of Nesties, Craft Stamper mag (for inspiration!) some Copics, punches and a gorgeous pad of K&Co Xmas papers.

Which brings me neatly on to this Xmas card which I made for my brother and sister in law! I used the papers from the pad to make the roses and also for the background and the sentiment is from Winter Wonderland unmounted stamp set from Particraft. I've used Cosmic Shimmer Aqua Twinkles on the roses for a bit of bling.

I did say on my last post (sorry about the gap but a lot of "stuff" has been happening) that I was playing with a shadow box and would post a piccie of the end result. Well, here it is! It looks so much better in real life but you get the idea! I tore up pieces of scrap paper to cover a frame I made and distressed to my hearts content!
On to the "other stuff" that has kept me away from blogging! I've been waiting for my disciplinary meeting at work about my sick leave for the operation (I won't bore you all with that again) and they set a date which I was terrified about and then they cancelled it with less than 24 hours notice and have reset it for November 16th. I feel as though the Sword of Damocles is hanging over my head. I also did the demo day at Martell Press and if any of the lovely customers who came are reading this...thank you all for coming and making me so welcome. There's exciting things happening at the shop for crafters so watch out for a mail shot and keep November 27th free!!!
We've also had visitors staying and you know how much work that involves (even if they are your nearest and dearest) Suddenly the whole house looks dusty and there seem to be cobwebs everywhere you look so we had a marathon "Winter Clean". Well, that's all my excuses for not being on here these last 2 weeks but hopefully I'll be a bit more regular now.
I'll definately be here on November 8th to draw the blog candy so if you haven't entered yet, there's still time!
Better go as I really need a top up of my morning cuppa! Until next time........keep crafting and many thanks for visiting!!!

the card is fab. love the flowers at the bottom.

As for the meeting, remember if you are nervous you have the right to take a colleague with you for moral support. good luck. caroline #16

Aww, hugs! Sounds like you're having a bit of a time of it with your work at the mo. Being in HR as well as accounts, I can appreciate what these meetings entail and how they make people feel, so like Alli Melek says before me, if you feel the need, take a colleague in for support! Onto brighter things - that Christmas card is just fabulous - love it!

hello gorgeous - do I SPOT An Artsy CRAFT PROJECT?

You should have a union rep with you, and also if you do not belong to a union you are entitled to an independent person accompanying you,

really really Honey - if you are feeling threatened you need an HR person to sit with you and go through the facts so you go in calm and well briefed focusing objectively on the facts...and keep on crafting....chin up

Love the card. I also love all those products on your desk. I don't have any, including that super paper. I hope your operation goes smoothly, because I am simply shocked that the hospital feels it can put your life and your emotions on hold like that. Happy belated from #1 but who feels like # last.
