About Me

My Photo
I joined Particraft as a demonstrator in April 2008 and am also an independent demonstrator for Creative Expressions. I have a passion for cardmaking and have been teaching at workshops for the past 5 years including on cruise ships. There is nothing to compare with the thrill of seeing someone complete a project after they have told you that they haven't an artistic bone in their body! It's a great hobby that anyone of any age can enjoy. I'm married to Steve who almost understands my addiction to craft as he's addicted to his guitars. Between us, we have 4 grown up children and 3 grandchildren. I run workshops at my home and am also starting a craft club in September 2010. If anyone would like details of the workshops please e-mail me at stephen.smith870@ntlworld.com

WOYWW

A very good morning one and all. Thank you to everyone who left advice about my meeting at work last week. I have arranged for a union rep to be with me but it's still quite nervewracking.
I had an OHS appointment on Monday and he thinks that I'm still not fit for work which is good to know....at least one person who doesn't think I'm having time off for fun!
Anyway, here's my desk this week....not very exciting I'm afraid! I've been working on some projects for the workshop on November 27th at Martell Press so I've had to take my "experimenting" head off and put my "sensible" one on! I've come up with 7 Christmas projects all using different techniques so if anyone lives in the area, please get in touch with the shop to book a place.

This is one of the projects which I'm afraid doesn't look anywhere nearly as nice in the photo....looks very washed out but it's actually quite vibrant!
I've used the Ivy set of stamps from Particraft for this one and stamped the 3 sizes of flowers several times onto patterned paper, cut them out and layered them onto a Nestie which has been stamped with the Ivy leaves.
I also randomnly stamped some of the flowers onto the background paper. The edges have been distressed with Tea Dye ink (also available from Particraft). The message is from the same set of stamps.
We're off to lunch today as an Anniversary treat. Been married for 9 years, a record for both of us, so definately something to celebrate!! Better than tomorrow as we have our appointment for the Yellow Fever injections ready for the cruise! Still, no pain, no gain!!
That's about it for today. The craft club is still running so pop along if you can. The new candy will be on here very soon so do look out for it and enter. Until next time..............keep crafting!!

Great card Smiffy and lovely busy table. Good luck with your meeting, such a PITA having to deal with their superior attitude, used to be that a dr's note was more than good enough. Hope it goes well.

It is often the case that our wonderful creations don't show up as we would wish on camera. We all have that problem.

Yours does look very good, though.

Hey Pam! Good to hear you have someone with you at the meeting - it's very important! Also don't forget to ask for a break/recess if you feel it is getting a bit much. Just a small thought, and a sad one at that, but do any of your work colleagues know about this blog? Because if they do, and they see that you're doing all this stuff, and shows/workshops etc, it could give rise to them thinking you're not as poorly/unfit for work as you actually are. Bear that in mind when you go in, because potentially they may have found your blog and challenge you.

I'll write to Santa to bring me the same :-)

Oh that's a nice card. Good luck with the work thing - it's no help to know that this seems very common - ask Paula from WOYWW!

It's bad enough that I am running nearly a week late, then I have been plagued with that pesky 503 error all night. Just wanted to drop in and let you know I was here this week. Your card is beautiful. Hope your anniversary was fun. Sorry I didn't tell you sooner.
