Happy Wednesday everyone and that can only mean one thing....time to go for a snoop around everyone's desks!
I didn't have much on mine today so I thought I'd take a piccie of a corner of my cabin.
Looking at this, I realise that I have a terrible paper habit! I just can't stop buying it and then don't want to use it as it's too nice. I really must "have a word with myself!"
If that was all the paper it wouldn't be as bad but I've also got a tall paper rack on another wall and my cardstock is stored on another wall! Repeat after me..."you're a bad person and it's only paper so just use it!!!"
As it's Wednesday, it's also my day on the Creative Studios Design Team blog. Here's what I've come up with for this week. It's also a project that I'll be teaching at a workshop in September at Martells in Cliftonville.
I've used the "Art Houses, Art Flower and Wise Friends" sets of stamps from Creative Studios. There's step by step instructions on the blog and the link is Sam Poole Designs on the right of this page.
So, now in to today's travel photo.
This is St David's Cathedral in Wales. St David's is the smallest city in the UK. It's also true that it rains a lot in Wales but the grass is always lush and green!
That's about it for today. Many thanks for visiting and thank you to those who have signed up as followers. We're creeping towards the 300 mark and then I'll draw the blog candy winner. Also thanks for all the wonderful comments. I'll try to visit as many of you as I can. I seem to always get to about 90 before real life comes along and drags me kicking and screaming back into the real world!
So Until next time, have a happy, crafty (and possibly sunny) week!

I would like to have a paper habit, but I - almost - have it under control. There are some lovely ones out there that I know I wouldn't bring myself to cut or tear - I just ogle them online. I confess I have two sheets of Graphic 45 that it would give me actual physical pain to put scissors to! Julie Ann #65
Look like that paper my topple anytime. Hope the bookends are heavy!
Thanks for sharing and have a great week

I've only been crafting foor about half a year or so, but I can already understand how a paper stack can grow to be so big. Some papers just shouldn't be used, just kept and stroked once in a while...
Happy WOYWW and I wish you a wonderful week.
xx
LOL! Your shelves must groan like mine! I could scrap/stamp/create for YEARS even if I never bought another sheet of paper. What are we like?
:)
Happy WOYWW!

Hi Pam,
I have the exact same problem with paper. Far too much of it and it's too good to use! Oh dear!
We used to sing the kookaburra song too. It was always done as a round.

Lovely Cathedral - not seen that one but I love the Marble Church at Bodelwyddan (sp?). If ever you go Pam check out the pulpit, it is lovely.
Back to your desk Pam - I am getting away from the paper fetish and developing a fabric one to just make even less space in my room. Still not using the paper but not buying as much. What are we crafters like?
Take care, have a good day/week - Hugs, Neet 13 xx - and thanks for visiting me earlier
Hi Pam - paper addiction - it affects so many of us - I reckon if we all got together with our paper we could almost build a castle - LOL - have a great week - Happy WOYWW - Mxx #99

Happy WOYWW and thank you so much for the visit :-)

Hi Pam - I think you need to have a word with me too! Patterned paper... Mmmm N-I-C-E... Thanks for your visit and have a great week - I dare you to use one sheet from your stash this week - go on - you CAN do it! MMx #56
Lots of lovely things to see here :o) Thank you for the kind comment on my pinwheel card.
hullo Pam ah what lovely pickie do love the travel shots of Wales too lovely art of Uk yes does get wet...:D
You know how I beat my paper habit (except with washi, as it is so unique struggle with it) other paper I find scanning and printing in high resolution on good paper!
it works a treat for favourite designer paper then easy to break into a sheet ..
..as you can make some more - if need be file it under digi paper in my craft files.
happy WOYWW Shaz in oz.x #16
Thanks for sharing that cathedral--how lovely. I am laughing about what you said about scrapbook papers. I find so many scrapbook paper pads lately that I can't resist! Then, I tend to just not touch them because they're so divine and beautiful. So lately, I've been cutting right into them to make my art journals and tags--because if I actually scrapbooked with them, they'd be covered up by photos! Somehow, I've kept a typewriter that I bought in 1990. I had bought extra ribbons for it too--put it all away and forgot about it until my daughter found it a few years ago and said, "what is this mommy? A printer?" Too funny. But now it's the perfect companion to art journaling! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #14
I've been to Wales twice, years ago, and it really is 'my kinda country' ... I love that photo!! I had to giggle when you wrote about the paper you buy and that you find too nice to use.. uhuh.. same here! Happy woyww and a hug from Holland. Marit #91
I think we all have our little collections Pam, I have a rather large collection of ribbon, Christmas stamps in in general and House Mouse stamps too! Thanks for the card love and you're really, really welcome to a bit of our heat right now! WIll you take some humidity too?

PS, I signed up as a follower.
I have actually stopped myself from buying any more paper, I need to get rid of some as I'm like you, one to use one to stroke. Thanks for stopping bye. Francesca #47
That is one serious amount of paper you have going on there :-)
Hugs,

Love your HUGE stash of paper. Now, I don't feel so bad. Love the pic of St. David's Cathedral. Thanks for stopping by. happy crafting #5
Don't worry, you are not alone in your addiction! We all have paper that is 'being saved for something special',lol. Why? What is it with us that we can't bear to start using it? We're mad, the lot of us! Have a great week,Hugs, Shaz #48 xx
I love your confession about the paper...I have been a bit like that in the past, but am convincing myself to use it! Love the photo of St David's. Thanks for sharing. Happy WOYWW. Caro x (#132)
What a beautiful card, I love the colour combos and the whole design! I had to smile when you said about the paper because it is difficult to buy any craft/patterned here. I found the greases satisfaction with my paper, especially the very last sheet, is to use it. It's very liberating I promise! Thanks for the photo of St.Davids, it's a wonderful part of the Pembrokshire coastline and I had a lovely holiday there many years ago....good memories! TFS! #70
I was like that with fabric! But then told myself to get a grip and do you know what? It's ok...I can cut my fav fabric now with no side effects!! Lol
Hugs, LLJ 31 xx
Oh a fellow paper addict. I am better than I was and do use some of it but I definitely have just looking paper pads too. I'd love to come and rummage through those shelves of yours.
Thanks for visiting already.
hugs Lisax #76
Hi, my name is Rachel and I'm a paper addict. Although your stash makes me want to rummage and play. Why not frame some of your favourites?
Thank you so much for visiting and happy WOYWW,
Cheers, Rachel #53
I don't think you are a bad person...it happens. But I will tell you that once you start using all those bits and bobs you are in love with they TOTALLY enhance whatever you are doing. Not only does the final piece have its own mojo, but because you used something you love, your appreciate is heightened. I was making a journal last year and included some things I though were just oh so cool, and I LOVED it. I'm hooked now. Of course my stash needs to be replenished more often but I don't really see that as a problem.
Thanks for visiting.

Hi Pam
you know what? you should tell yourself it's ok to have an obsession. its harmless paper after all hehe
janet #39
I loved your comment about the paper ... I do exactly the same thing ... lol Your space looks very organised. Thanks so much for your visit and your kind words. Have a great woyww week Liz@71
Goodness, 90 visits would be a real achievement for me! But my excuse today is I have been at work. Totally sympathise with the paper habit, it's a real addiction LOL. Thanks for stopping by earlier, Cindy
Hi Pam, Thanks for dropping by and also thanks for the comments on the canvas. I will definitely post a picture of this piece finished. Every single person who has visited me today has left a comment about it. Very surprised indeed so it's nice to get such feedback!
Apologies for the lateness of my visit, been out most of the day with my mum.
Love the photo of that cathedral! What a magnificent building!
Thanks for sharing,
Jackie #25
Your paper habit isn't as bad as mine. I'm terrible can't bear to throw away any bits of card or paper. Hugs x ChrisB
I think we all have a quiet paper addiction, when I think back to when I first started scrapping and I used to go to the shop with the photo in my hand and pick out the papers and cardstock to suit it... LOL... that didn't last long!! I do use it though... it is only paper!! ;) Annette #6
Awesome cathedral! Love love your DT make. The flowers are so sparkly! Now that's a paper addiction! But oh boy, to have a cabin just for crafting! sigh Happy WOYWW! Nan G #108
Ha, I had to give up the paper habit so I could keep up the fabric habit! What a beautiful cathedral. I would so love to visit Wales.

That is the reason why I refuse to start cardmaking - I#d never use anything on acount of keeping it all for that 'special occasion'. Thanks for popping by and hope you have a great week - Lucy #37 x
Paper, ribbon, lace, fabric, broken jewellery, bits and bobs. We all have those habits. I have papers I have kept for years.
Have a good week.
Thank you for your visit.

I am always a bit envious when I see the shelves of craftrooms :) In a good way. I think it is awesome people have craftrooms like that :) Thanks for visiting me :) - Uniflame 96
Hi Pam
oh happy days just look at all that paper. I have the same problem as you I am addicted to paper and card and can't get enough of it but then can't use it as it is too nice.
Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog
Ria
Wow, that is a lot of paper! But if you love it and don't want to use it, then keep it the way it is! :)
Yes you can do it - use up some of that paper NOW - Thanks for visiting my desk already BJ#46
Hi Pam. I am a paper stroker too, but I also try to use some of it - occasionally, I used to live four miles from the border with Wales, and it certainly does rain a lot. I don't miss the rain now I live in Spain, but I do miss the lush green! Kate x #52
Pam, don't worry about the paper, we all do that, I have had some paper that is just too pretty to use for years. I have recently managed to sort all my paper into colours so it is more likely to get used.A friend of mine, Pyro jack, just on woyww for the first time this week, told my hubby one day that craft materials are very cheap to keep. They don't eat anything, they don't cost anything to store, they don't have use by labels like food, they don't rot, in fact hubby was to leave me alone to get craft materials with my money and not to nag.
I made a NY's resolution to use it or lose it this year, so no more attachments for me! Ha- I'll call you w hen I get there.
thanks for visiting and welcoming me to yourplace.

Hi Pam, why is it we find it so hard to use our papers. Even getting one to use and one to stroke doesn't alway work. I've been crafting since about 1994/5 so have a fair bit too.
If you were to pile yours all on top of each other, how many 'feet' worth of paper do you think there would be? could you see over the top of it LOL... Happy WOYWW and thanks for stopping by earlier.. Gill x #81
I have a very similar photo of the cathedral! I have a lot of paper too and I can't stop buying it, but it is the one thing I use loads of so that's okay :-)
Pam, repeat after me, "I am not a bad person." You silly girl. But you are a paper ho. That, of course, is short for "hoarder," what were you thinking?! Repeat this, too: "LITS, LITS, LITS" which is my byline and what helps me cut that paper and dig into those embellies and USE them! Life is just too short!! Good luck and thanks for coming by to visit me! Happy WOYWW!! Darnell #32
You can never have too much paper. I have actually used some today.
Have a great weekend
Carol
I know what you mean about having a secret affair with paper, I cant seem to stop buying it either.
Bridget #3
Well my dear you are not the only one like that:),the card you created is gorgeous, I want to live in the UK, I couldn't find a workshop around my area in Canada for anything..The cathedral is a stunning place and I love the rain, see shouldn't I live in the UK LOL, thanks for sharing and your lovely visit, have a wonderful weekend Pam..Dianne #97
