About Me

My photo
Hi, I'm Pam and thank you for visiting my blog. I have been making cards for over 10 years and am an independent demonstrator for Creative Expressions. I am lucky enough to teach on cruise ships and also get the chance to demo at The Big Stamping and Scrapbooking Show at Alexander Palace. I run workshops for a local craft shop and if anyone would like details of the them please e-mail me at stephen.smith870@ntlworld.com I love to scrapbook but my all time favourite thing is to get messy with ink!

WOYWW

Good morning all and happy WOYWW!

It's that time of the week that we all have a trip around the world and see what everyone has been up to.

Well, I went to an auction on Friday evening and being a sucker for all things "storage" I had to bid for this really handy drawer set.  It's actually what's on my desk today until I fill it and find a home for it!

The bottom drawer is big enough to take my misting ink sprays so I think they might end up living in there as it's best to store them on their sides and not upright.

I've been busy putting packs together for the November cruise workshops and now have 4 projects completed.  I finally finished 50 packs of Shaker cards yesterday and really don't want to see them again until I get on the ship and start teaching!

My project for the Creative Studios Design Team this week is using Sam's brand new Shabby Chic stamp sets.  I've used the heart stamp along with the rose and leaves for this project.  There's a step by step (with photos) on the Sam Poole Designs website (link on the right).

It's a shame I'm not better at photography!  The main stamp is a heart shaped text stamp.  I've heat embossed it in white and covered the whole thing with Micro Beads.
I've been making samples for the shows on Create and Craft on July 22nd when Sam will be demoing these stamp sets and I'll put some of them on here over the next week.

Well, apart from the travel photo, that's about all.

Staying with last weeks topic of cathedrals, here's a photo of Lindisfarne.

Many thanks for visiting and leaving all your lovely comments.  I'll try and get round to as many of you as possible (I got to 100 last week so I'm getting better!).
I won't be here next week as we're away at a couple of music festivals so until next time, have a happy crafty time!

Pretty stuff, like the idea of adding the microbeads. No doubt you're sick of kitting, that's a lot of shaker cards!

Maisie Moonshine said...

Hi Pam, I'm not surprised you don't want to see those shaker cards again - 50 kits to put together must get monotonous in the end.

I'm a sucker for storage too, are you going to "alter" it? Thanks for your visit today and have a happy week. MMx #47

P.S. Greyboard works OK with BigZ dies which don't have too much detail, such as Tim's tags and bookplates (in fact if you're going to put a lot of texture paste or embellishments on your tag the thicker board stands up really well to the extra weight).

It works really well with the large TH sewing room die too - I made a great 3D piece by laminating layers of greyboard dress forms (here's the link - I did a tutorial http://maisiemoonshines.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/these-wings-were-made-to-fly-sunday.html)

Didn't want you to think greyboard was a TOTAL no-no, you just need to pick and choose. MMx

I've got a soft spot for little chests of drawers like those...what a find you had! You're going to have deciding what to put where!
And that's a lot of kits to do....you must be sick of cutting out by now...though the cruise sounds good ;-)
And I lived in Northumberland for many years....I love Lindisfarne...one of my favourite places.

Hi Pam,

Thanks for dropping by, good luck with those shaker cards, nice idea but I never was any good at making them! Good luck with the cruise workshop.

I need to get back into my crafting side of things again, been concentrating too much on the art side and am just trying out a few ideas of how I can combine the two, hence the stashing of the sketchbooks at bargain prices lol!!

Take care

Hi Pam

We were on Lindisfarne not many weeks ago and took pictures of that same statue. Beautiful place isn't it. Now what's this about a cruise? Must have missed that posting. Lovely heart!
Sorry I am so late - I've just been prioritising my class prep - hope I am forgiven.
Thanks so much for visiting me, I will try to do better next week.
Hugs, Neet xx

That is a lovely little drawer unit, and will be lovlier when you have altered it. I have a project waiting to be altered I bought in a charity shop, was a bit pricey but had to have it.

Lovely photo, I have never been to Lindesfarne, maybe one day.

Did I ask who won the blog candy?

Well Happy WOYWW, bit late,
