Good Morning All and a very Happy Tuesday.
I'm back with another design using the fab frame stamps, this time it's one of the smaller ones. I've also used a sentiment that was issued a few months ago but it's one of my favourites!
Start by covering a Pronty MDF Heart with Couture Creations Paper from the Damask 12x12 pad. Distress around the edges with Adirondack Citrus Ink.
Ink up one of the Ornate Mini Frames with the Citrus Ink, stamp onto Coconut White Card and heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Powder.
Line the sentiment up to fit the frame and stamp the sentiment with Black Archival Ink. Heat emboss (carefully!) with clear powder. After trimming to size, distress around the edges with the Citrus Ink.
Matt and layer onto black card.
Die cut the tag from the Californian Collection, Corner, Border and Tag Set using the Couture Creations Paper. Cut it in half and glue to the ends of the stamped image.
Paint around the edge of the heart with Black Soot Distress Paint.
Punch 2 holes in the heart to thread the ribbon through. A Crop-a Dile goes through the MDF with no trouble.
Glue the sentiment into position on the heart.
Die cut some flowers and leaves from the Finishing Touches Faux Quilled Blooms Die Set using the same papers as before.
Layer the flowers and glue together. Shape and glue into position on the heart.
Use the Couture Creations Papers to die cut butterflies from the Sue Wilson Magical Butterflies set of dies. Edge them with Citrus ink and shape the wings. Glue into position.
Add some Small Black Circle Dazzlers to the flower centres. Stick a row of 3mm Black Self Adhesive Pearls to the bodies of the Butterflies.
Colour a length of white Seam Binding with the Citrus Ink, dry with a heat gun and tie onto the heart.
And there's the finished project!
A really cheerful summery feel to it, just what's needed now the nights are drawing in and the weather is getting decidedly cooler!!

It's Wednesday so that can only mean one thing, my turn to showcase one of the gorgeous new Nautical Stamps from Sam Poole at Creative Studios.
I do hop you managed to catch Sam's shows on Create and Craft last Saturday. So much inspiration for using these stamps and lots of fab techniques.
My project this week is using a chipboard tag and the Lighthouse Stamp. I've used the sentiment from the Lantern set for this one.
You can also see the Background Netting Stamp has been put to good use. I think I'm going to be using that stamp quite a lot and not just with the Nautical Stamps.
The tag has been painted with Distress paints and there is a full "how to" complete with step by step pictures on the Creative Studios blog.

It's not long until Father's Day so I thought I'd make a card using the new Nautical Singles stamps from the very talented Sam Poole at Creative Studios. They're not really singles as there's a sentiment with them so they're brilliant value.
Anyway, as usual, all of the step by steps are on the Creative Studios Design Team Blog so I'll just show you the finished card here. Hope you like it.
I've used the Ship in a Bottle stamp as well as the new A6 Netting Background Stamp. Everything can be ordered from Creative Studios (except the shells, they were a little bit of fun that Sam sent us to play with!)
Sam has 2 shows on Create and Craft this Saturday where she'll be demoing the new stamp range. I do hope you'll join her.

I've also used patterned papers from the 8x8 Teresa Collins Paper Pad. As you can see, the melt Pot has also come out to play!

Well, another week has whizzed by and suddenly it's Tuesday again! So here I am, back with another project for the Creative Expressions Design Team.
This time I've used the "Get Well Soon" stamp from the Singles range and flowers from the Steampunk Flowers A5 stamp set. So let's begin!
Randomly stamp one of the flowers from the Steampunk Flowers set onto Coconut White card using Perfect Medium Ink. Heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer True White Powder. Using Cut 'n Dry foam, apply Tumbled Glass Distress Ink around the area of the flowers. The embossed images will resist the ink. Wipe off any excess ink with a piece of kitchen towel.
Ink up the Get Well Soon stamp with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and stamp onto Coconut White card. Heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Powder. Using the same ink, paint some of the stamped image and distress around the edges. Cut out and matt and layer onto black card. The do the same with Coconut White card.
Attach to the background with 3d foam pads.
Stamp some of the Steampunk Flowers onto Coconut White card with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and heat emboss with Clear powder. Cut out the flowers and remove petals from a few of them. Distress around the edges with the same ink. Glue the flower together.
Cut 6 lengths of White Seam Binding and glue together to form a cross. Using the Spellbinder Foliage Set, die cut 2 stems of leaves. With the die still in place, distress with the Tumbled Glass Ink.
Glue all of the elements into place with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue. Add an 8mm White self adhesive Pearl to the centre of the flower to finish.
And that's the finished card!
I hope you agree that it would cheer up someone who is feeling under the weather!

A quick posting from me today to show you all a project using the fab new Doodle Flower Stamp set from the very talented Sam Poole at Creative Studios.
I'm a very lucky bunny as I get sent these to play with but even if I didn't, they are just the type of stamp that is useful to have as they can be mixed an matched with other sets.
It's my DT day on the Creative Studios website so I've put the full step by step on there but here's a photo of the finished project.
A nice bright card to cheer us up while the weather is so awful!

Another Wednesday, another WOYWW! Hope everyone is well and the Christmas Card preparation is in full swing!
Here's my desk this week.
I'm working on a Design Team project for Creative Expressions using some beer mats that I "liberated" from a pub a while ago! There's an empty cup, lots of Distress Inks, the Winter Flowers stamp set and of course, my trusty paper trimmer. In answer to a question a few weeks ago, there are 4 bone folders in the tub (I don't know why there's that many!).
I have been making Christmas cards and I've got a very quick and easy one on the Creative Studios Design Team Blog today (the link is Sam Poole on the right). The full step by step is there but here's the finished thing.
And the final picture is.....the sweetest kitten in the world...fact! It's Dr Gonzo!
He's laying on his favourite fleecy blanket and cuddling a knitted toy. He loves having something to cuddle. My daughter has just got Dr Gonzo a goldfish to watch swimming around and he's fascinated by it. Well, the vet did say to try and stimulate him with interesting things!
I'm going away on my travels next week so although I won't be able to join in with WOYWW I'll still be blogging, hope you'll pop by for a visit. We're down to the final 9 followers for the blog candy...if it happens while I'm away, I'll do the draw when I get back.

Good morning all and happy WOYWW!
It's that time of the week that we all have a trip around the world and see what everyone has been up to.
Well, I went to an auction on Friday evening and being a sucker for all things "storage" I had to bid for this really handy drawer set. It's actually what's on my desk today until I fill it and find a home for it!
The bottom drawer is big enough to take my misting ink sprays so I think they might end up living in there as it's best to store them on their sides and not upright.
I've been busy putting packs together for the November cruise workshops and now have 4 projects completed. I finally finished 50 packs of Shaker cards yesterday and really don't want to see them again until I get on the ship and start teaching!
My project for the Creative Studios Design Team this week is using Sam's brand new Shabby Chic stamp sets. I've used the heart stamp along with the rose and leaves for this project. There's a step by step (with photos) on the Sam Poole Designs website (link on the right).
It's a shame I'm not better at photography! The main stamp is a heart shaped text stamp. I've heat embossed it in white and covered the whole thing with Micro Beads.
I've been making samples for the shows on Create and Craft on July 22nd when Sam will be demoing these stamp sets and I'll put some of them on here over the next week.
Well, apart from the travel photo, that's about all.

Anyway, here goes with yet another example of a messy workspace. One day I will surprise everyone and it will look pristine!
Following the weekend journaling workshops at the Artistic Stamper in Faversham, I have embraced all things splodgy, inky, painty and generally messy (no change there!)
This is a journal page that we started at the workshop and here is what I did with it today.
No, I don't know what it means either! I'm not sure what it says about me, but I'm sure that a psychoanalyst would have a field day!!
I've been playing with Sam Poole's fab stamps again for the Creative Studios Design Team Blog and have come up with this one.
I've used the Art Flower A5 Unmounted Stamp set, Cosmic Shimmer Misters and Distress Inks. There's a full step by step on the Creative Studios blog (didn't want to put it on twice) and the link is on the right...just click on Sam Poole Designs and go to the Design Team header.
In other news, it was very strange seeing things I had made on Sam's shows on Create and Craft....they summed up my designs as "quirky"....I think I'll take that as a compliment!!

Somewhere a little closer to home this time. We always go to the Larmer Tree Music Festival and this is what it was like last year. It was so muddy that my wellies split along the seam. We've booked again for this year so fingers crossed!!

Wow, what a weekend I've had with the mega talented Dyan Reavely! I've never tried art journaling before and when I saw an advert for a full weekend of workshops at the Artistic Stamper in Faversham with Dyan, I knew I'd have to treat myself (because I'm worth it!!!)
It was non-stop inkiness for 2 whole days as my still very inky fingers (and clothes) will testify. I always think that if you can't take a joke you shouldn't sign up!
Anyway, here are a few near completed pages from the journal I started at the weekend.

I think the main thing I learned was to let go and not try to be so precise.....just to go with the flow.

Good Morning All. Is it too early to talk about Christmas?
It's been on my mind over the past week as I prepping for some November workshops and, trying to come up with ideas now that the sun is finally shining, has been a real challenge! I'm really pleased that I've come up with 4 very different designs and thought I'd show you one today (on the hottest day of the year so far!).
I like to teach different techniques at the workshops and have been threatening them with a brayer for quite a while now!
I started with a square of gloss card, cut a circle from a post it note to use as a mask and kept the outer from the mask.
I masked off an area for the moon and picked up some Broken China Distress Ink on the brayer. You need to remove the excess ink from the brayer before you start. Roll the inked brayer diagonally across the card and build up the layers of ink until you're happy with the result leaving about
a third clear. Repeat the process with the 2nd colour of ink (I've used Wild Honey Distress Ink).
Remove the mask and use the outer from it to protect around the edge. Pick up a little Wild Honey Distress Ink and lightly colour the moon leaving a little bit of white in one area. Go back over the outer edges of the moon to give definition.
I've used Sam Poole's (Creative Studios) lovely set of stamps called Winter Wonderland and stamped the trees and stars with Black Archival Ink. I've also used a white highlighter pen to add some dots of white in the sky and to highlight some of the stars. To finish, I've matted and layered and added some Creative Expressions 8mm self adhesive black pearls. Hope you like it (and hope the ladies at the workshop like it too!) I must thank Barbara Gray for reminding me of this technique....my head is so full of "new stuff" that I sometimes forget the "old stuff"!
We're back off to another auction today. I saw listed 2, what they are calling, little banjos. I'm hoping that they're banjo ukuleles (think George Formby!). I fancy playing one as the chords are the same as the ukulele. Did I forget to tell you that is my secret vice!

How about a little island called Nuku Hiva in French Polynesia. It's a little dot on the map in the Pacific. Talking about the ukulele reminded me of it. We (me and the "better half") were booked to teach ukulele on a cruise ship sailing from Tahiti to Peru last year and this was one of the ports of call. Surprising where a ukulele can take you!

Time waits for no man etc. so here we are, another week on and my desk still hasn't shown much sign of improvement!
I found a chipboard book I'd bought in a sale about 3 years ago for 30p lurking in the back of a cupboard so thought I should start to do something with it. I've only got as far as covering it with some Graphic 45 papers so far. I have used some of the paper to cut out the pictures to decorate parts of it. The stamps on the desk are the Art Houses from Creative Studios. Not sure if they are going in the book yet but wanted to colour them in!!
What I have been working on though, is my next DT project for Creative Studios using the Wise Owl set of stamps. I just can't stop using them!
I'm posting the full step by step on the Creative Studios blog this morning so I won't do it on here as well (hope you don't mind!) The background is Alcohol Inks and the owl is coloured in with Copics to give you some idea. Hope you like it and it is a nice quick card to make.
Sam will be demoing the Wise Owl and Enchanted Tree stamp sets on Create and Craft this Saturday (8th) and you might just recognise a few of the samples!!

These are the giant waterlillies that grow in the Amazon. They really are quite spectacular and I just wish that the photo did them justice.
