About Me

My photo
Hi, I'm Pam and thank you for visiting my blog. I have been making cards for over 10 years and am an independent demonstrator for Creative Expressions. I am lucky enough to teach on cruise ships and also get the chance to demo at The Big Stamping and Scrapbooking Show at Alexander Palace. I run workshops for a local craft shop and if anyone would like details of the them please e-mail me at stephen.smith870@ntlworld.com I love to scrapbook but my all time favourite thing is to get messy with ink!

Snow!

A Very Happy Tuesday to you all,  I hope you've had a great week.

I don't want the title of this post to depress you but this card is all about snow!  So to cheer you up and stop you shivering at the thought of it, I'll get on with the project!

Die cut "Snow" using the Festive Collection Sue Wilson Dies from a piece of Coconut White Card about a third of the way down.  Save the piece of card you've cut it from.

Place a piece of Double Sided Adhesive onto a 2nd smaller piece of card to fit where the die has been cut from.
Sprinkle a mix of Silver Chrome and Lilac Cosmic Shimmer Polished Silk Glitters over the adhesive.

Ink up the Striped Poinsettia Stamp with Flake and Glitter Glue and randomly stamp over the cut out piece of card.  Apply the same glitters as before.

Dry emboss with the M-Bossabilities Dainty Dots Folder.

Glue the word "Snow" onto the glittered backing with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.

Attach the top layer with 3d foam pads.

Matt and layer onto Foundations Heather Card.  Attach a length of Mauve Seam Binding.

Apply Flake and Glitter Glue to the largest of the Poinsettia Stamps.  Stamp onto Coconut White Card twice.  Apply the glitters as before.  Cut out with the Festive Collection Dies.
Shape the petals, glue the flower together and add a small Dazzler from the Assorted Circles Pack to the centre.

Tie several strips of the Seam Binding onto the strip that is on the card.  Glue the large Poinsettia into place.  Trim the seam binding to the right length.

And there's the finished card!  I hope you like it.  All of the products used are from Creative Expressions.

Just a couple of tips to finish with.
The "Snow" Die will need a few passes through the machine to cut.

When applying the glitter, do it 1 colour at a time so that you can collect the excess.  If the glitters do get mixed up, collect the excess in a separate pot and you've got some "ready mix" for another project.

Well, that's all for today.  My next workshops at Martells are on 11th and 25th October and the Crafty Sunday at my home is on October12th.  Hope to see some of you there.

Many thanks for visiting and have a great week.

More Christmas Ideas

Good Morning All and a Very Happy Tuesday.

I hope that those who could make it enjoyed Ally Pally, it's always such a great show.

Today I'm going to do a step by step on one of the cards that I demoed at the show.

I've used the Filigree Poinsettia Stamps and the Festive Collection Classic Poinsettia Dies.

Start by inking up one of the Poinsettia stamps with Perfect Medium.  Stamp randomly onto a piece of Coconut White Card and heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Bright Gold Powder.

Matt and layer onto Vintage Gold Foundations Card.

Ink up the largest Poinsettia stamp with Perfect Medium and stamp onto a piece of Vintage Gold Card.  Heat emboss with the Bright Gold Powder.
Cover 2 of the stamped images with Double Sided Adhesive and apply Cosmic Shimmer Diamond Sprinkles. Die cut with the Classic Poinsettia Dies.  Die Cut the 3rd Poinsettia.
Do the same with the smaller Poinsettia stamp, but this time onto Coconut White Card.
Only apply the Diamond Sprinkles to one of the flowers before Die Cutting.
Shape the petals and glue together.

Stamp the sentiment onto white card and heat emboss as before (this sentiment is from the A5 Filigree stamp set).
Cover with Double Sided Adhesive, then add the Diamond Sprinkles before die cutting with the Californian Collection Basic Frames Set A.
Die cut a matt from the Vintage Gold Card using the Californian Collection Decorative Frames Set B.

Cut 3 strips of Double Sided Adhesive of different lengths 1 inch wide, cut into pennant shapes and stick onto the background.  Apply the Diamond Sprinkles.

Glue the Poinsettias into position.  Add the sentiment with 3d foam pads.
Glue the Finishing Touches Small Circle Dazzlers to the centres of the Poinsettias to finish.

And there's the finished card!

The Filigree Poinsettia Stamps are terrific to work with, they give a wonderful stamped image and are so detailed.

I hope you've enjoyed the tutorial!  Next week I'll be back with another card from the demo's and lots more Xmas inspiration...I do hope you'll visit.

In the meantime, many thanks for stopping by and leaving comments.  Have a happy, crafty week!

Time to Sparkle!

Good Morning All and a very Happy Tuesday!

There's nothing like a bit of glitter to get you in the mood for Christmas and this weeks card has plenty of that!

So, let's get started with it.....

Cut a piece of card to size and cover it with Double Sided Adhesive.  Using a spoon, sprinkle Vintage Violet and Western Blue Cosmic Shimmer Polished Silk Glitter over the top.  Apply one colour at a time and press the glitter down to make sure it stays in place.

Apply Flake and Glitter Glue to the Mosaic Bauble Stamp and stamp onto the glittered card.  Apply Cosmic Shimmer Silver Moon Gilding Flakes.

Trim to size then matt and layer onto Coconut White Card.
Cut a matt from white card, sick some of the Double Sided Adhesive around the edges and sprinkle the same colour glitters as before.  Matt and layer.

Put double sided tape around all 4 edges of a piece of Coconut White Card.  Apply the glitters as before.

Cut another piece of Coconut White and emboss using the Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Dainty Dots A4 Folder.

Cut a length of White Seam Binding, cover with Flake and Glitter Glue and apply the same colour glitters.

Attach to the embossed piece of card them matt and layer onto the piece with the glittered edges.

Using the sentiment from the A5 Winter Greetings set of stamps, apply Flake and Glitter Glue and stamp onto a piece of Coconut White Card.  Sprinkle the glitters as before.
Die cut the sentiment with the Spellbinders Classic Circle Dies.

Cover another piece of card with Double Sided Adhesive and die cut a Scalloped Circle.  Cover with the glitters then matt and layer the sentiment.

Attach the Bauble and Sentiment with 3d foam pads.

And that's the finished card!

It's difficult to explain the difference between the Polished Silk Glitters compared to other glitter, you really have to see it and feel it!  It is so smooth that you can stamp on it and even stamp with the glue without the glitter coming off.

I'll be using it at Ally Pally this weekend in some demo's so I hope you'll stop by to have a look.

Well, that's it for now.  Have a great week and hope to see some of you this weekend.  Many thanks for stopping by.

Merry Christmas!

As it's September I don't feel in the least bit guilty heading this posting "Merry Christmas".  It's definitely time to get started on those Xmas cards (although I must admit, I haven't started mine yet)!

Today, I've used some of the gorgeous new Sue Wilson Dies and also one of the new Pinpoint Embossing Folders.  The biggest surprise to those who know me is that there's NO INK!

Anyway, let's get started......

Die cut the Festive Collection Classic Poinsettias from Ruby Foundations Card.
Die cut the Festive Collection Filigree Poinsettias from Coconut White Card.
Glue the Filigree over the top of the red Poinsettias in the centre of the flowers with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.

Cut a piece of Coconut White card to size and dry emboss with the Pinpoint Checkboard Embossing Folder.
Matt and layer onto Ruby Card.
Attach a length of Red Crushed Ribbon to the top right corner.

Gather the centre of the ribbon and glue it down.  Tie a double bow using the same ribbon and attach with a glue dot.
Add a Small Fancy Pearl Embellishment to the centre of the bow.

Cut out one of the labels from the Couture Creations Vintage Christmas 12x12 paper pads.
Emboss a smaller piece of Coconut White Card with the same folder as before.  Glue the Robin label to the card.
Matt and layer onto Ruby Card.

Attach this to the main card with 3d foam pads.

Glue the Poinsettias into position after shaping the petals.

Add some 5mm and 8mm Self Adhesive Pearls to the centres of the Poinsettias and also to the Robin Label.

Cut the Self Adhesive Snowflake Swirl Embellishment into sections and stick some down onto the card.

And there's the finished card!  I hope you like it.

Many thanks to everyone who came to the workshop on Saturday....I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did and that you've managed to get all the ink off your hands!

I'm very excited as it's the Grand Northern Ukulele Festival this weekend so I'm off to practice now....in between putting some demo's together for Ally Pally the following weekend.

Until next time, have a very happy, crafty week and many thanks for visiting.

Snowy Brook!

Good Morning All and a Very Happy Tuesday.  I can't believe that it's September already....definitely time to start those Xmas cards!

With that in mind, here's my blog post for the Creative Expressions Design Team.  I've used one of the new Singles stamps, this one is called "Snowy Brook Bauble"

Well, let's get started!

Stamp the Snowy Brook Bauble onto Coconut White card with Black Archival Ink.
Paint with Distress Inks in the following colours:
Gathered Twigs, Peeled Paint, Stormy Sky and Mustard Seed.  Leave some of the areas white.

Cut out using the Spellbinders Festive Collection Sentimental Baubles.

Cover the bauble with Double Sided Adhesive, cut around the bauble, then cover with Cosmic Shimmer Diamond Sprinkles Glitter Jewels.

Repeat stamp the A6 Mistletoe Background stamp onto Coconut White card with the Stormy Sky Distress Ink.
Dry Emboss with Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Dainty Dots Folder.
Distress the edges with the Stormy Sky Ink.

Paint the leaves with Peeled Paint Ink, then matt and layer onto Black Foundations Card.

Attach a piece of the Green/Ivory Striped Grosgrain ribbon to the left side of the card.

Die cut Spellbinders Labels 28in Black and Coconut White Card.

Stamp the Mistletoe stamp with Stormy Sky Ink onto the white label.  Emboss as before and paint the leaves.
Matt and layer and add to the card.

Attach the Bauble with 3d foam pads to the label.

Gather the ribbon and attach a bow with a glue dot.
To finish, attach a Small Fancy Pearl Embellishment to the centre of the bow.

And there's the finished card.  I hope you like it!

Well, that's all for today...I've got another 4 projects for this month using some of the new products available from Creative Expressions, I do hope that they give you some ideas.

Many thanks for visiting and I'll see some of you on Saturday!  Hopefully, some more of you will come to say Hello at the Rubbernecker stand where I'll be with Sue Wilson over the weekend of the 20th/21st.

So until next time, have a great week!
