About Me

My photo
Hi, I'm Pam and thank you for visiting my blog. I have been making cards for over 10 years and am an independent demonstrator for Creative Expressions. I am lucky enough to teach on cruise ships and also get the chance to demo at The Big Stamping and Scrapbooking Show at Alexander Palace. I run workshops for a local craft shop and if anyone would like details of the them please e-mail me at stephen.smith870@ntlworld.com I love to scrapbook but my all time favourite thing is to get messy with ink!

Go Nuts!

Happy Wednesday everyone.  It's time for me to show another design using the Woodland Animal stamps from Creative Studios and designed by the lovely Sam Poole.

I've used the Squirrel stamp for todays project as well as the A6 Leafy Background stamp.

As always, the full "how to with photos" is on the Creative Studios Web page so do please go and have a look.

He really is very cute!  I thought it would be a great card for a man (and we all know how difficult they can be!)

Sam has announced that she is looking for a new DT member so that's another great reason to head over to her website....it's great fun and you get all the new releases to play with!

Don't forget to tune in to watch the shows on Create and Craft on Sunday.  If you can't relax and watch what you want on Mother's Day, when can you!

Well. that's it for today so until next time....keep crafting!

How Can it be Tuesday Already!

Well, another week has whizzed by and suddenly it's Tuesday again!  So here I am, back with another project for the Creative Expressions Design Team.

This time I've used the "Get Well Soon" stamp from the Singles range and flowers from the Steampunk Flowers A5 stamp set.  So let's begin!

Randomly stamp one of the flowers from the Steampunk Flowers set onto Coconut White card using Perfect Medium Ink.  Heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer True White Powder.  Using Cut 'n Dry foam, apply Tumbled Glass Distress Ink around the area of the flowers.  The embossed images will resist the ink.  Wipe off any excess ink with a piece of kitchen towel.

Ink up the Get Well Soon stamp with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and stamp onto Coconut White card.  Heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Powder.  Using the same ink, paint some of the stamped image and distress around the edges.  Cut out and matt and layer onto black card.  The do the same with Coconut White card.

Attach to the background with 3d foam pads.

Stamp some of the Steampunk Flowers onto Coconut White card with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and heat emboss with Clear powder.  Cut out the flowers and remove petals from a few of them.  Distress around the edges with the same ink.  Glue the flower together.

Cut 6 lengths of White Seam Binding and glue together to form a cross.  Using the Spellbinder Foliage Set, die cut 2 stems of leaves.  With the die still in place, distress with the Tumbled Glass Ink.

Glue all of the elements into place with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.  Add an 8mm White self adhesive Pearl to the centre of the flower to finish.

And that's the finished card!

I hope you agree that it would cheer up someone who is feeling under the weather!

Ally Pally is only a few weeks away so I hope you've got your tickets!  I'm really looking forward to the show and love doing the demo's, I hope to see some of you there.

Just a couple of spaces left for the workshops in April.  If you're interested, please phone the shop.

There are lots of Creative Expressions shows coming up over the next few days on Create and Craft.  The lovely Julia Watts is on tomorrow.  Sam Poole has shows on Sunday 30th for the Tool Shed (Sam's lovely as well!)  I've been busy making samples for the shows so maybe you'll get to see some of them.

Talking of Sam, if you head over to the Creative Studios  site, Sam is looking for a new DT member...it could be you!

Well, that's all for today, back tomorrow with a Creative Studios project... see you then!

Hoppy Wednesday!

Wednesday has rolled around again at incredible speed so it's my turn to design a project for Creative Studios.

I have to say that it's been an absolute joy designing with the Woodland Animal stamps designed by Sam Poole and today's is no exception.

I thought that as the sun has been shining, I would come up with a really bright and cheerful card that would be ideal as an Easter Card.

I've used the masking technique to create the number of rabbits on here and painted them with Distress Inks.

As always, the full step by step tutorial is on the Creative Studios website so do please pop over there and have a look.

Just a reminder that Ally Pally is getting near!  I'll be on the Rubbernecker Stand with the lovely Sue Wilson as well as giving demo's in the main demo area.

There are still a couple of spaces available on the workshops at Martells in April.  Please phone the shop if you're interested.  I have to say that I'm so pleased with the ideas that I've come up with for them!!  Just a note of caution...glitter is involved so be prepared to leave looking like a disco diva!

Well, that's all for today, so until next time...keep crafting!

Thank You!

Good Morning All and a very Happy Tuesday!

As it's Tuesday, it's my turn to design a project for Creative Expressions and this week I've come up with a Thank You card using a fantastic new stamp on the Singles range.

So, without further ado, here's the step by step!

Place the Chicken Wire Mask over a piece of Coconut White Cardstock and spray Cosmic Shimmer Rose Pink and Pearl Misters.  Remove mask and leave to dry.
Place the mask over the card again but this time at a different angle and run through the Grand Calibur to dry emboss it.
Highlight the raised pattern with Black Soot Distress Ink.  Distress around the edges with the Black Soot Ink.

Matt and layer onto Foundations Black Cardstock.

Stamp the "Thank You" stamp with Black Archival Ink onto Coconut White Card and heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Emboss Powder.
Spray some of the Cosmic Shimmer Misters onto a craft sheet and use as a paint to colour in areas of the stamped image (I've used the same 2 colours as before plus Meadow Lush for the leaves.)

Matt and layer onto black card.
Spray some Coconut White card with the Rose Mister and another piece with the Meadow Lush Mister.
Cut some leaves using the Spellbinder Foliage set out of the green card.
Cut a Spellbinder Spiral Blossom 2 from the Rose card and make up into a 3d flower.

Tie a triple bow with Black Seam Binding Ribbon.  Spritz with water and scrumple up before drying with a heat gun.
Attach to the card with a dry glue dot then add the foliage and flower to finish.

And there you have it!  I know that the background looked a bit of a mess in the first photo but I think it all comes together when you add the main focal point.  Anyway, I hope you like it.

That's all for today except to remind you that Ally Pally is fast approaching and I'm busy working on some Demo's for that.  I'll be back again tomorrow with a design for Creative Studios so until then, keep crafting!

A Hoot of a Day!

Good Morning and here I am again with another card made using Sam Poole's Creative Studios cute animal stamps.

I Love the owl, he is just the sweetest thing!  I've also used the new Birch Tree Mask.

The outer edge of the main card has been decorated with 3 different colours of Cosmic Shimmer PVA Glues.

I've done a full step by step tutorial on the Creative Studios blog so, please pop over there for a more detailed look.

I do hope you all like this one, it's been one of my favourites!

On other matters, the workshops in Cliftonville for April are almost sold out, just a couple of spaces left on each date.  If you can make it, it would be great to see you.  If not, I'll be at Ally Pally next month doing some demo's for the lovely Sue Wilson so do come over and say hello!  Failing that, I'll be in Deal on March 15th playing my ukulele with the Sunshine Ukulele Club!

Until next time, have a great week!

Pretty in Pink

Good Morning All and a very Happy Tuesday.

As it's Tuesday, it can only mean one thing, and that's Design Team day for Creative Expressions.  This week I've come up with a design using two of the new Singles range of stamps.  They are called "Engraved Elegance" and "Scented Corner".

Start by applying Flake and Glitter Glue to the Scented Corner stamp. Stamp it in 2 corners of a piece of Coconut White card that has been trimmed to size.  Apply Summer Meadow Gilding Flakes.
Dry Emboss with the Vintage Plumes Embossing Folder.

Ink up the Engraved Elegance Perfume Bottle with Perfect Medium and stamp onto a piece of Coconut White card.  Heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Bright Gold Powder.
Using Spun Sugar Distress Ink, edge the embossed piece of card and the card with the perfume bottle on.  Use the same ink to make a watercolour and paint the perfume bottle.

Matt and layer onto Black Foundation Cardstock.
Tie a double bow with Dusky Pink Sheer Wrinkled Edge Ribbon.
Take a clear Dazzler, cover it with Perfect Medium Ink and heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer True White Powder to change it's colour.

Stick the stamped image onto the card with 3d foam pads.  Attach the ribbon and the Dazzler with dry glue dots.

It's not my usual style (I'm not known for "girly" designs!) but it does look pretty and would make a great Mother's Day card.  I hope you like it!

I'll be back tomorrow with a card for the Creative Studios Design Team, hope to see you then!

Fantastic Mr Fox

Happy Wednesday one and all!  As it's Wednesday, it means it's my turn to design for Sam Poole at Creative Studios.

She has come up with a range of animals that are just so cute!  Today, I've used the Fox.

I've made it by using one of my favourite techniques, masking and inking with Distress Inks.  There's a full step by step tutorial on the DT section of the Creative Studios Blog so I won't re-hash it here.

Anyway, this is just a very quick post today as I'm up to my ears in projects, planning demo's for Ally Pally and playing my ukulele...........not all at the same time!

So until next time, have a happy, crafty week!

A Little Bit of Deco

Good Morning All and another week has flown by!  It's now officially Spring and the days are beginning to get a little longer.  We just need them to get drier and warmer as well!

For today's Creative Expressions Design Team Project I've used one of the Singles range of stamps.  This one is called "Art Deco Delight".

Start by trimming a piece of Metallic Vintage Gold Card to size.  Dry emboss with the A4 Heart Lattice Embossing Folder.
Apply Vintage Golden Green Gilding Wax around the edges and when dry, buff.
Matt and layer onto Foundations Black Cardstock.

Cut the largest shape from the Spellbinder Resplendent Rectangles Dies using Coconut White Cardstock.  With the die still in place, distress with Tea Dye Distress Ink.
Die cut the next size down using the Vintage Metallic Gold Card.
Stamp the Perfume Bottle onto Coconut White Card with Black Archival Ink and heat emboss with clear powder.

Paint the Perfume Bottle with Cosmic Shimmer Mica Powders Set 1 Metallics.  Cut the bottle out.

Stamp the sentiment from the stamp set onto the white rectangle.  It's a good idea to place the gold rectangle down so that you can see where you need to stamp.  Glue the rectangle into place.
Stick the gold rectangle on with 3d foam pads.
Shape the perfume bottle and stick onto the gold rectangle with foam pads in the centre and glue around the edges.

Tie a double bow using the Silky Crush Black Ribbon and attach to the card with a dry glue dot.
Stick a Black Dazzler to the centre of the bow and add 2 Black Stick Pins.
Cut the Black Self Adhesive Pearl Swirls into sections and add to the card around the Perfume Bottle.

And there's the finished card...quite classy I think!
I hope you like it.

Many thanks for visiting and leaving comments.  I'll be back tomorrow with a project for Creative Studios so until then, take care and keep crafting!
