About Me

My photo
Hi, I'm Pam and thank you for visiting my blog. I have been making cards for over 10 years and am an independent demonstrator for Creative Expressions. I am lucky enough to teach on cruise ships and also get the chance to demo at The Big Stamping and Scrapbooking Show at Alexander Palace. I run workshops for a local craft shop and if anyone would like details of the them please e-mail me at stephen.smith870@ntlworld.com I love to scrapbook but my all time favourite thing is to get messy with ink!

3d Doodle Flower

Wednesday again and another Design Team Project for Creative Studios!

This time I've used the Doodle Flower stamp set.  I tried to think of other ways to make up a flower rather than just layering them and I think this works quite well.

Because of the size of the stamps it wasn't too fiddly to make up and using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue meant that the petals stuck straight away so no having to hold them for ages waiting for the glue to dry!

Here's my project.

I've also used some of the beautiful self adhesive Creative Expressions swirls.  As always, there's a full step by step on the Creative Studios website along with details of all the products used.

That's it for this week, hope you can join me again next week for another project.  Many thanks for visiting.  Hope you all have a great week.

Circular Wall Plaque

Tuesday again and I'm back with a "wall art" project for my Creative Expressions Design Team Project.

Start by painting one of the Studio 490 Art Part Circles and frame with White Eco Green Acrylic Paint.
Cover the circular frame with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Texture Paste.  Apply it unevenly leaving a very bumpy surface.  Leave to dry.

When thoroughly dry, cover with Broken China Distress Paint.

Stamp 3 of the Antique Dress Forms onto the white circle with Perfect Medium and heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Bright Gold Metallic Powder.

Attach a piece of white Seam Binding to the circle with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue to use as a hanger.

Stamp the 6 petal flower from the Button Floral Stamp Set onto some patterned paper (mine was Tim Holtz) using Perfect Medium and heat emboss with the Gold powder as before.  Stamp 15 of them to make up 5 of the 3d roses.

Stamp the leaves from the Studio 490 "Love to make Art" set onto Coconut White card using Perfect Medium Ink.  Heat emboss with the same Gold Powder and cut out.

Apply Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Wax Metallic Enchanted Gold to the frame.  Glue the frame into place with Dries Clear Glue.
Glue the leaves and flowers onto the frame.

And that's the wall hanging complete!

Well, that's it for today.  I'll be back next Tuesday with another Creative Expressions project.  Hope you like this one and many thanks for visiting.  Have a great week!

Wall Art

Back again with another project for the Creative Studios Design Team.

I've discovered a real love of creating wall art.  I love to take a blank canvas (literally!) and turn it into something to decorate the house.  As painting isn't an option, much as I'd love to be able to do it, this is a great way of making something to keep.

Today, I'm showing a canvas I made using the Doodle Stamps.  I've used a mix from the Doodle Flowers and Doodle Butterflies and they really do work together so well.

As always, there's a step by step on the Creative Studios website.  Just head there and go to the Design Team page and you'll find a "how to" with photos.

I hope you like it, it's great fun to make.

That's all for today, back next week with another project using the fab Doodle Stamps.  Until then, many thanks for visiting and have a great week.

Bejewelled Bag

Good Morning All and a happy, crafty Tuesday to everyone!

Today's DT project is using one of the new En Vogue Singles stamps from Creative Expressions.

Start by embossing a piece of Coconut White Cardstock with the Couture Creations Fudge Folder.

Stamp the Bejewelled Bag with Black Archival Ink onto a piece of Creative Expressions Teresa Collins Paper.  Heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Powder and cut out.

I've snipped the leaves off the top of the bag.

Die cut 2 Spellbinder Scalloped Circles, 1 in Teal Cardstock and another in Coconut White.  Matt and layer then glue onto the embossed piece of card.

Die cut the Spellbinder D-Lite Fantastic Flourish 1 using Teal Card.  Glue it to the top of the bag.  Attach to the circles with 3d foam pads.

Die cut a 2nd flourish, cut it in half and glue to the circle at the bottom of the bag.  Stick some Creative Expressions 3mm Pearls onto the bag following the shape of the flower.  In the centre of the flower, use Cosmic Shimmer Pastel Blue PVA Glue.  Add some more pearls to the flourish to finish.

And that's the finished card!  It's a very quick card to make and looks very elegant.  I do hope you like it.  It would work well in any colour scheme.

So that's all for today, back next week with another project using the Antique Dress Form Stamp Set.

Until then, many thanks for visiting and have a happy, crafty week.

Bird of Paradise

It's Wednesday so that means it's my day to showcase one of the fab new stamps designed by Sam Poole at Creative Studios.

I've always loved Sam's designs so it's an absolute pleasure to work on her Design Team.  She has a show on Create and Craft coming up soon so do watch out for it.  There will be lots of great ideas using her new stamps.

Here's my take on the new "Bird of Paradise" stamp from the Singles Range.

I've used Gilding Flakes for this card and there's a full step by step on the Creative Studios blog.  Hope you can pop over there to take a look.

Well, that's all for today.  If the blog candy hasn't been claimed by the end of the month, I'll draw another name so Angela, you have been warned!

Hope you have a great week and many thanks for looking.

I Like Your Style!

Back again and a Happy Tuesday to you all!

This week I'm using the Antique Dressform Stamp Set for my Creative Expressions Design Team Project.  I love this set of stamps, it's so versatile and you'll get a lot of use from it.

For this weeks card, I've stamped the same dress form 5 times with Perfect Medium Ink onto a strip of Coconut White Cardstock.  The central one was heat embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Denim Lilac Aurora.  Either side of it, they are embossed with Raspberry Blaze and the 2 outer ones with Regal Arctic Aurora.  Do use an anti-static bag before stamping as it will stop the "bloom" from the powders.

The background has been made by inking through the Buttons Mask with Dusty Concord Distress Ink then stamping the scissors and sentiment with the same ink.
Distress the edges of the background and the panel.

Matt and layer the panel onto Black Foundations Cardstock and add a row of lace before gluing onto the background.

Colour a piece of copy paper with the Dusty Concord Ink and die cut flowers from the Spellbinder Daisy Patch die set.
Stamp the scissors onto the flowers and layer them up.  Glue the flowers into place and add a Creative Expressions 5mm pearl to the centres.

It's a quick and elegant card to make and having made the background yourself, you know it's going to be the right colour match!

That's all for today, I'll be back next Tuesday with another handbag card, hope you can visit.  Many thanks for stopping by today and leaving comments.

Until next time..............

Bright and Funky!

A quick posting from me today to show you all a project using the fab new Doodle Flower Stamp set from the very talented Sam Poole at Creative Studios.

I'm a very lucky bunny as I get sent these to play with but even if I didn't, they are just the type of stamp that is useful to have as they can be mixed an matched with other sets.

It's my DT day on the Creative Studios website so I've put the full step by step on there but here's a photo of the finished project.

A nice bright card to cheer us up while the weather is so awful!

Well, that's it for today, many thanks for visiting.  I'll be back soon with more ideas for these great stamp sets.  Sam has 2 shows on Create and Craft showcasing these sets on the 18th Jan.  Do try to join her as she has some amazing ideas.

Until next time, have a great week.

Basketweave Purse

Good Morning All and a very Happy Tuesday to everyone!

I'm a very lucky girl and received a package of new goodies from Creative Expressions to play with just before the New Year.  So without further ado, here's one of the cards I made using the Basketweave Purse stamp from the Singles range.

Stamp the purse onto a piece of Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby Paper using Perfect Medium.  Heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Silver Shine Metallic Powder and cut out.

Emboss a piece of Coconut White cardstock using the Creative Expressions A4 Basket weave folder and matt an layer onto some pink card.

Tear some different papers from the Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby collection and glue onto the card.

Die cut Majestic Labels 25 using Coconut White card.  Glue into place and add the purse with 3d foam pads.

Stamp "Happy Birthday" from the same set using Perfect Medium and heat emboss as before.  Cut out making a pennant shape.  Attach with glue and foam pads after shaping it.  Glue some Creative Expressions Pink Ribbon Roses into place and add 2 pearl Stick Pins and an 8mm pearl to finish.

It's a much "prettier" card than I usually make (no Distress Ink in sight!) but it would make a nice card for any age.  I hope you like it.

The blog candy has been won by Angela Hartley, please contact me so that I can get it in the post to you.

I'm off on my travels again today but I'll be posting a project fro Creative Expressions every Tuesday while I'm away so please come back and take a look.  Many thanks for your visit.

Until next time....keep crafting!

WOYWW....Happy New Year!

Morning all and a very Happy New Year.

I'm finally back from my travels and while I was away I found this little cupboard for sale in a Euro shop for the extravagant price of 1 whole Euro!!!!  Well, I couldn't leave it there at that price now could I!

And so that's what's on my desk at the moment while I try to decide what to do with it!

I got back to find a package with new stamps from Sam Poole at Creative Studios waiting for me.  A lovely surprise to come home to.  Here's my first play with them.

The set is called "Doodle Butterflies" and I've posted a step by step on the Creative Studios DT Blog.

I've also chosen a winner of the blog candy, the name is on the previous post so do check and get in touch with me if you've won.

Sad news if anyone has been following the story of Dr. Gonzo, the kitten.  In spite of my daughter's best efforts to keep the little chap alive, his back end became paralysed and so I'm afraid, that he had to be put to sleep.  They would have tried anything but his digestive tract was also affected so there was no hope.  On a brighter note, she and her partner got engaged last month and have another kitten to care for.

Well, that's about it for this week.  Until next time, have a fab week and thanks for your visit.
